Press Release

Certain teams on the UCI WorldTour have become inseparable from the sport of cycling: AG2R CITROËN TEAM is one such superpower. Present in the peloton since 2000, BMC now moves into our third year as sponsor to this team, who are based out of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in France and close to our HQ in Grenchen.

For 2023, we remain as committed as ever to applying our know-how and ensuring riders have the fastest bikes and the requisite support to further create speed and contribute to longevity in cycling.

THE RIDERS

Looking at the riders, the stats don’t lie: 29 riders representing eight nations over three continents mean that while this is a French team at heart, it is continuing to make the steps to become truly international.

Eight climbers, those who dance up the steepest slopes; 8 punchers, those who can attack from a small group; 4 Classics specialists, those who love the cobbles, cold weather and crosswinds; 4 all-rounders, ones to watch at all races; 3 sprinters, the fast finishers from a big group; 2 rouleurs, the steadfast powerhouses of the peloton. It’s a team ready for all occasions, one that’s bound together by the desire to create speed, and promising fireworks each time they line up, from three-week Grand Tours to one-day Spring Classics and everything in between.

THE BIKES

BMC Teammachine SLR01. BMC Timemachine Road. BMC Timemachine. From mountain passes on Grand Tours to Belgian crosswinds and the all-important races against the clock, the team has a band of proven bikes at its disposal. Equipped with Campagnolo groupsets and wheels, and rolling on Pirelli tires, this is a formidable offering for any rider. Top that with in-house support from BMC, and you have a combination that’s ready to excel at the fastest and hardest races.
